DATA ENGINEER

HESPLORA is looking for candidates to join its team of professionals to build innovative projects for clients belonging to different product sectors (finance, insurance, oil & gas, multi-utility, …).

The ideal candidate should have a particular focus on data engineering issues from a Big Data perspective and will be involved in the design and development of platforms for data management and transformation, Datalake, Data Lakehouse and ETL/ELT Pipelines, mainly in the cloud.

Minimum required skills:

• Tested skills with at least one high-level programming language (Python, Scala, Java …);
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or demonstrated equivalent skills;
• Expertise in the world of data modeling and familiarity with SQL-like languages;
• Strong attitude towards learning new skills and knowledge;
• Proficiency with spoken and written English;
• Problem solving mindset, attention to details and strong teamwork attitude.

A Master’s degree in a relevant subject (e.g. a two-year Master’s degree), study or work experience abroad, and the ability to work in a team and meet deadlines will be highly valued in the selection process.

Verifiable experience or references related to the following skills will be considered a nice to have for the position:

• Experience developing data-driven applications and solutions in cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP, …);
• Experience with the Apache Spark ecosystem;
• Experience in defining cloud infrastructure through code;
• Development of software projects and proof of concepts even just for personal interests.
